SC4 is a stereo compressor with a variable envelope follower for RMS / peak behavior. Unlike the built-in Compressor, SC4 does not "look-ahead" in order to begin reducing volume before a peak occurs.

From version 2.3.0 of Audacity onwards we will no longer be shipping SC4 as part of Audacity,
You can obtain SC4 if you want/need it as part of the available LADSPA bundle. Please see the LADSPA section of the Download page on the Audacity Website for more details and links. |
