Selecting and copying the audio

Firstly, if you want to copy-paste anything, you need to select it. And, it is the same with audio in Audacity.

  • To copy and paste a good section, you need to select it first.
  • To select that section of your audio, you can simply use the selection tool available in the source track.
  • You can also zoom in, to ensure that the part you are selecting is the same as that of what you actually want.
  • The zoom option is available in the view menu, and the edit toolbar. After the selection, you need to copy your audio section.
  • To copy that section, you need to click on edit and then copy. In addition, you can use the keyboard shortcut keys for the same.
  • The shortcut is Ctrl+C. After this, you can paste that section. You can do the pasting in an already existing track, or a completely new track.
